The Reverend Chad-Joseph Sundin, OSBCn

serves as the Vicar-Chaplain of St. Augustine’s and Episcopal Campus Ministries at ASU. Fr. Chad is a Benedictine canon and the founder and Prior of the Community of St. Mary of the Annunciation, a religious community in the Diocese of Arizona. The contemplative nature of Benedictine spirituality, with its focus on prayer and hospitality, is infused into Chad’s ministries as Vicar and Chaplain. Chad shares a household with a spouse and three children, has lived in Tempe off and on for most of his life, and has been involved with Episcopal Campus Ministries at ASU and St. A’s since 2003. The Reverend Amy Bryan

serves as our parish Deacon and Administrator. She’s in the office Tuesday through Thursday keeping us in good working order, and it’s hard to find a friendlier face in any office anywhere! Deacon Amy is passionate about Christian formation, spiritual and pastoral care, is married to Dave, and is mom to a bright and busy three-year-old. Contact Deacon Amy.


The Reverend Anne K. Ellsworth

serves as an affiliate priest for St. Augustine’s and ECM at ASU, where she worships with her family and also regularly preaches and celebrates the Holy Eucharist. Pastor Anne leads retreats, serves as a JustFaith facilitator, and is a grassroots organizer working on issues of racial and economic justice in our public schools. Anne is a graduate of the Jesuit School of Theology and Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. The Reverend Jana Sundin

serves our parish as an affiliate priest and is on Diocesan Staff as the Canon for Children and Youth. Jana has a background in social work and is a graduate of Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She is a spiritual director, a Godly Play mentor, and still finds time to engage our children, family, and young adult communities. You can reach Jana at jana[at]azdiocese[dot]org.


Julie Carson

serves our parish as Minister of Formation, and since Formation at St. A’s encompasses the whole of life, Julie has a role in almost every ministry at our church! Julie’s background in campus ministry and her experience of raising four brilliant, soulful daughters equips her beautifully for the work of shaping Christian formation in our multigenerational university parish. Stefan Dollak

serves as the parish Choirmaster and directs our Children’s Choir. A multi-instrumentalist and medieval and renaissance musical encyclopedia, Stefan curates ensembles and repertoires that, it’s safe to say, you won’t find anywhere else! Stefan directs the early music group Bartholomew Faire, is married to Heather, who sings for us almost every week, and is father of two.

Paul Heet

serves as our parish Sexton. If you happen by the church in the wee hours, you will likely find Paul hard at work keeping our grounds and facility clean and well-maintained! Paul and his wife, Dee Dee, have been members at St. A’s since forever and have three kids and a rapidly increasing brood of grandkids!

Bishop’s Committee

Joaquin Rios

serves as our Senior Warden. Joaquin and his wife, Anita Huizar-Hernandez, have been coming to St. A’s for two years. In his day job, Joaquin is an attorney working for a public policy nonprofit. Joaquin and Anita have a 21-month-old daughter, Inés, who loves being a part of St. A’s as well!

Keeley Nielsen

has been a member of St. A’s for about 4 years. She currently stays home and takes care of her two young kids, but before that was in the construction industry for 13 years. She’s the Junior Warden and leads both the Facilities Ministry and Habitat for Humanity Ministry at St. A’s. In her free time she enjoys time outdoors with her family.

Robert Bartylla

is a third generation Arizonan and has lived blocks from St. Augustine’s since 1999. He was received into our church in 2019 and serves on the Bishop’s Committee overseeing our Outreach Committee. He and his husband Mario keep busy with two sons, ages 15 & 12. He works part time as a registered nurse. Most mornings you’ll find him on long walks around ASU with the family dog Sammy. Perusing Desert Botanical Garden and camping on the Rim make Rob smile.

Ruth Lindsay

has been a member of St. Augustine’s since 2009. She is active in the music ministry and is a mother and a student who is passionate about the arts, particularly music and literature.

Julia Coleman

has been a member of St. A’s for almost 4 years. She serves as a part of our parish Finance Committee.  She is originally from Long Island,  New York,  but has lived in Arizona for almost 20 years. Before retiring, Julia was a Midwife for over 25 years. Her hobbies are reading,  quilting and sewing, embroidery and crocheting.

Alexandra Leonard

moved to Arizona in 2019 to restart her life in America after teaching English in Busan, South Korea for 9 years and has been a parishioner at St. A’s ever since.  Originally from a small town in Michigan, she misses leaves without spikes on them, but is enjoying learning about desert life, and spending time with her new parish family.  Alex currently works in healthcare administration and serves the Bishop’s Committee on the Stewardship Committee, overseeing St. A’s digital presence.

Denise Baker

moved to Arizona from Brazil in 2017 to pursue her PhD studies in Transportation Engineering. Since the summer of 2018, she has frequented St. Augustine’s and was confirmed in 2019. She serves on the Bishop’s Committee and as Treasurer, and in her free time she likes to tap dance and play with the cats.

Tommi Sederholm

serves the subcommittee overseeing Parish Life on the Bishop’s Committee and has been at St. Augustine’s since December of 2018. She was raised all over North America but having lived in the Valley since 1992 considers it her home. She and her husband Br. Michael Drollinger live in South Scottsdale with their two children and cat. Tommi, who also serves on the parish Hospitality Committee, enjoys baking, reading, dancing and jewelry making.
